The diary knows which ramp is free
Bays, opening hours, lunch, buffers and closures all feed one availability check, so nothing is offered that cannot be worked.
What it does
- Create a bay for each ramp, lane or pit, and assign which services each one is eligible for.
- Best fit assignment picks the bay with the smallest free block around the requested time, which packs the day and keeps long gaps open for long jobs.
- Opening hours are set per weekday, with a lunch break, a slot interval and a changeover buffer between jobs.
- A minimum notice period stops someone booking a slot that starts in ten minutes, and a booking horizon caps how far ahead they can go.
- Closures block a single bay or the whole garage across a date range, for holidays, maintenance or someone being off.
- Every booking is re-checked on the server before it is confirmed, so two customers cannot take the same slot at the same moment.
A double booking costs more than a missed one
The reason most garages will not put a diary online is the fear of two cars arriving for one ramp. Availability here is calculated from the bays themselves rather than from a generic calendar, and the server checks again before it says yes.
