They move it themselves
Every booking carries a private link where the customer can see it, move it or cancel it, with no login and no call to the workshop.
What it does
- The link is secured by a unique 40 character token, so there is no account and no password to forget.
- Rescheduling opens a date and time picker. The old slot is released first, so the times either side of it are not blocked by the booking being moved.
- The bay is reassigned automatically for the new time.
- Cancelling releases the slot, or the whole bundle group, and sends a cancellation email.
- Both actions send an updated email and fire a webhook, so anything else you run stays in step.
- The page is noindex, so a booking link never turns up in a search result.
Most calls to a garage are people moving an appointment
Rescheduling is the single most common reason a customer rings, and it is the call you least want to take. Handing it back to them removes the interruption without losing the slot, because the diary updates itself as they do it.
